We'll start out this 6-hour seminar with a fast-paced live presentation, slide show, and Q&A session (2.5 hour total duration), outlining the 8 Key Concepts and 5 Action Items in Mark Sisson’s The Primal Blueprint 21-Day Total Body Transformation. Find answers to your burning questions, the reasons why a Primal lifestyle works and what you can do to maximize your efforts. MDA Success Story Tara Grant will lead the discussion, as well as recount her four-year experience and success with the Primal Blueprint diet and lifestyle, explain common hurdles people beginning a Primal lifestyle face and different strategies for busting through a plateau.
After a short break for lunch, Tracy Barksdale and Matthew Lee Willis, the founders of True Nature Training, will coach you on Primal movement, followed by three hours of True Nature Training: fun-based fitness instruction in parkour, movement mechanics and gymnastics. With experienced coaches in all three disciplines, followers of the program can expect to learn proficiency in movement in a fun and safe environment. This program is for people of all fitness levels; you can expect to learn safety, strength, balance, agility, coordination and skills that you can use in your everyday life.

The seminar is designed to give you a detailed but easy-to-follow introduction to Primal living through the 8 Key Concepts and 5 Action Items. The presentation will include brief discussions of scientific topics supporting the the Key Concepts, overviews of several Primal success stories, resolving the conflict between Primal living and Conventional Wisdom, and details about how to take action to get Primal over the next 21 days, including understanding the best-to-worst choices in each food category.
If you are unfamiliar or have only casual exposure to the Primal Blueprint, the seminar will get you up to speed quickly and not be intimidating regardless of any lack of advance knowledge. If you are a hard-core enthusiast with a deep understanding of the Primal Blueprint philosophy, you may feel that some or much of the presentation reviews your existing knowledge base. Presenters will make a sincere effort to offer something of value to the entire audience, and you are encouraged to help shape the experience you desire by contributing to the discussion and Q&A content as you wish. The afternoon session of movement training is appropriate for all fitness levels. Any physical limitations you have will be respected, and you can be sure that you will gain value from the lessons, regardless of what fitness level you are currently at.

Tracy Barksdale: Tracy Barksdale: Tracy is the local coordinator and the inspiration behind PrimalCon Austin. This former schoolteacher is now deeply committed to changing the world through her passion for Primal-aligned exercise and healthy living. Tracy's True Nature Training specializes in introducing safe, fun physical exercise to people who have been defeated by the conventional fitness system. She believes everyone deserves to discover their true nature as playful human beings.
Tracy is the co-founder and owner of an exciting new facility in Austin called True Nature Training, an unique training academy that integrates various movement techniques including Parkour, MovNat and gymnastics. Tracy trains people to move gracefully, efficiently and safely, focusing on practicality and movement quality. Tracy helps organize the Austin Primal Living Group and the Austin Natural Movement Group to help grow a strong ancestral living community.
Tara Grant is a featured success story in the Primal Blueprint 21-Day Total Body Transformation. You probably remember her from her Mark’s Daily Apple success story, Tons of Doctors and No Solution. She has transformed from 235 pounds to 159 pounds since going Primal in 2009. Tara suffered a litany of serious health problems related to the Standard American Diet and repeated failures of western medicine to cure her. She’ll share her story in-person of how she took matters into her own hands with a steady, sensible, Primal approach – and what you can do to overcome all the momentum against healthy living that we face today. Watching Tara materialize from the book pages to holding court with the group, detailing her amazing story, was a real treat at 2012 PrimalCon.
Matthew Lee Willis: Matthew Lee Willis is the founder and organizer of Texas Parkour, Texas Parkour Academy and Parkour Federation. With over 10 years of parkour and gymnastics experience, he has worked with organizations to train and certify athletes and coaches. Matthew has his BA in Theatre and in his spare time, is both an actor and stunt artist.
With P.arkour Federation, Matthew has developed a national certification for coaching athletes as well as training guidelines for parkour academies. Matthew has been published in every major news service in Texas as well as publications in the New York Times and the front page of Yahoo News. As a 2nd Generation Parkour athlete he learned, trained and taught with the originators of the parkour discipline.
