Hosted in one of Malibu’s most exquisite estates (see photo slideshow below), your luxury weekend will be something you will always remember. Just a short walk from the beach, nestled at the foot of a scenic canyon, our villa serves as the gateway to some of the best hiking trails in Malibu. This retreat is limited to 12 attendees and is primarily designed for couples, as we are limited to only 6 bedrooms and each room must be double occupancy. Each couple will have their own bedroom and bathroom for the utmost privacy during the weekend. If you are intent upon attending the retreat solo, we will make efforts to get you sharing a room with another single guest of the same sex. Email to discuss this option. If we have a potential match, we will and connect you and your prospective roommate so you can feel totally comfortable prior to your trip. Furthermore, your weekend comes equipped with a private chef and two dedicated coaches. Your coaches will stay with you the entire weekend and will be your primary point of contact throughout.
Mark Sisson will join in for two evening meals and discussion time. This is your opportunity to have dinner and chat with the man responsible for the Primal movement.
If you have attended PrimalCon you already know the Lamberts, as they are the main presenters on Olympic lifting and Gymnastics at the Primal Blueprint’s annual event.

Final discussion on nighttime light exposure and setting up your room to maximize sleep, rest, and recovery.
8 am-10 am: Morning Coffee Walk and Talk
Wake up and move! Start the day off with a moderate paced walk to the beach. Today’s walk discussion points will be focused on exercise patterns and intermittent fasting. During the morning walk it is your time to ask questions, learn about each other, or just be quiet and take it all in.
Arrive at Beach.
Warm up: Active Recovery Sequence and optional Ocean Plunge. A proper warm up is essential in any exercise regimen. We will take you through a proper warm up and active recovery sequence. If you are feeling brave, you can hop in the ocean!
10 am-11:15 am: Shower/Protein Shake/Snacks
11:15 am-1:15 pm: Goal setting and break down of how to achieve those goals. Why are you here? What are you looking to get out of this weekend? Together we will set a few specific goals and then we will assist you individually in designating the steps to achieve those goals. For some of you it may be weight and body composition changes. For others, it will be more performance based questions. Whatever your goals are, we will help you organize the steps you need to take to make these goals achievable.
1:15 pm-2:30 pm: Cooking demo and lunch! Mark’s personal chef will be on hand to teach you how to create great Primal meals. She will provide examples on how to batch food so that it is always ready for you to grab and go. Other talking points include: composition of a basic Primal meal, tips and tricks to make it gourmet, and how to experiment with seasonings and spices. Then we will all dig in!
2:30 pm-4:30 pm: Heavy Lifting/Primal Essential Movements Class
One of the most important things one can do to expedite body fat loss or performance is to incorporate some heavy lifting into your workout regimen. This is where you will get coached through the Primal Essential Movements as well as some basic heavy lifting progressions, appropriate for all fitness levels (including using a simple PVC pipe to learn the progressions under zero load if necessary).
Break. Chill. Shower. Free Time. It’s been an action packed day. Don’t forget to take some time to relax, take a cat nap, or lay by the pool.
7:30 pm: Dinner
Another great cooking demonstration from Mark’s personal chef.
We will wrap the night up with a discussion with Mark. This is your opportunity to meet the man responsible for the Primal movement. Ask questions, get advice, and simply hang out with Mark!
8 am-10 am: Morning Coffee walk and talk. Running technique instruction.
Once again, we start our morning off with an invigorating hike, this time in the Malibu Mountains. This is not a race to the top…(unless some of you want to make a game of it). This is about awakening our bodies and triggering the right hormonal and genetic expressions. In fact, that will be our discussion point for this walk!
Sprinting Lesson: You are all warmed up from your hike. Now let’s learn proper sprinting mechanics.
10 am-12 pm: Showers/Protein Shakes
12 pm-1:15 pm: Shopping trip! Let’s go on a shopping adventure. We will stroll through the aisles together and talk about how to properly navigate a store. We will look at labels and for hidden ingredients that are not part of the Primal eating strategy. We will discuss organic versus non-organic, grass-fed vs grain-fed, and what free range, natural, and organic mean. We will also address what kind of dairy is acceptable to eat. This is your opportunity to absorb the Primal shopping experience, so you can incorporate this in to your life when you return home.
1:15 pm-2:30 pm: Beach Picnic and Eating-on-the-Go Discussion
Mark’s chef will prepare us a delicious picnic meal. We will see how easy it is to eat while on the move with these wonderful picnic ideas!
2:30 pm-4:30 pm: Paddle boarding in Malibu! Your own private paddle board coach will take you on a guided 2-hour lesson and tour. This is an activity that most of you can take back home. Whether it’s in an ocean, a lake, or a big pond, this is great way to enjoy the outdoors and get some exercise.
Return Home: Chill time
7 pm: Primal BBQ. Our final meal prepared by Mark’s chef. We will grill up some amazing eats for you to enjoy. After that paddle, trust me, you will be hungry!
Final discussion/Q&A, and closing thoughts from Mark: It’s been a long weekend and you have learned a lot about yourself and each other. This will be our final group meal. You have successfully completed your Primal Luxury Retreat and are ready to go home armed with an abundance of experience to add to your Primal practice!

Dress in layers. It is a good idea to have a rain jacket just in case. We will be doing our activities rain or shine! Luckily, most of the time in Malibu the sun does shine.
Many of our activities will involve some form of exercise, so bring clothing that you can move easily and be coached through various movements in. Upon your registration, we will email you a list of questions and exercises to complete and return to us prior to the retreat.

No stranger to CrossFit and the paleo movement, here are a few comments from some of the thought leader’s in this industry on Vanessa and Adam Lambert.
"I cannot recommend Adam and Vanessa Lambert enough for the Primal Luxury Retreat program! Adam was a coach at NorCal Strength & conditioning for a number of years and is top notch in his understanding of movement and performance nutrition. Vanessa is a former competitive gymnast and has gained her understanding of paleo/primal eating in an effort to recover from the complications of gluten intolerance. Both Adam and Vanessa were critical members of our CrossFit Games Affiliate team which took 3rd place a few years ago."
Robb Wolf - New York Times bestselling author of The Paleo Solution
"Adam and Vanessa Lambert are extremely knowledgable and experienced in gymnastics, olympic lifting, functional fitness and overall health. There are a lot of people out there with experience, but what sets Adam and Vanessa apart from the crowd is their passion and their ability to relay their knowledge to others. As a professional CrossFit athlete, Adam and Vanessa have pushed me to better myself with their programming, coaching tips and nutritional advice. Additionally, on a personal side, their kind-hearted, genuine desire and support to help me achieve my goals has been irreplaceable. I can guarantee they will do the same for you."
Jenny Labaw - Professional Reebok CrossFit Athlete
"Over the last several years, I have had the extreme pleasure of knowing and working with Adam and Vanessa Lambert and I highly recommend this power couple; not only as highly qualified health professionals but also as genuinely good people. Adam and Vanessa have unmatched experience working one-on-one with people from all walks of life, and I can't think of a more qualified duo than these two. Last but most certainly not least, the zest for life that Adam and Vanessa share is a sure guarantee that not only will you learn all you need to step confidently into your newfound lifestyle; but you will also have a great time in the process!"

The one-on-one attention was definitely much more than expected. I was impressed with your and Adam’s extensive knowledge. I did not expect such a high level of expertise and really appreciated it. It was also awesome to hang out with Mark – what a smart and interesting guy. Cindy and Liz were delightful as well. The friendliness and positive energy of the whole team set the tone for the trip. I thought the retreat was great and definitely worth the money."
"10! Everyone involved in the retreat were very knowledgeable and helpful. We were able to ask questions and interact in a more intimate setting. The trainers were awesome!"
I truly cannot say enough about my three day transformation. I feel healthy, strong and hope to continue on this same path with the help of my new friends Katie, Vanessa and Adam. I also need to sing the praises of Cindy and Liz. I loved sharing my love of cooking with Cindy. She shared so many neat cooking tricks. I loved the feel of the whole weekend. It was like spending time with your smartest friends and learning from them through play. Our open sessions with Mark were also pretty amazing. I loved the paddle boarding, the picnic, the trip to the store, the workout sessions, sprinting, the mountain hikes, the cooking demos... I loved it all and I can't wait to see you all again. THANK YOU!!!!!!
The food was delicious, and plentiful! The accommodations were lovely and offered a variety of spaces indoor and out. The coaches were great! Helpful, patient, informative and fun! Mark is fantastic! So glad he spent so much time with the group!
